National Bouillabaisse Day

It's amazing what you can find on the internet.
This is December 14th, when most people are preparing for
the various end-of-the-year holiday celebrations,
but somewhere there is a stalwart group of revelers
preparing to celebrate the fish soup called bouillabaisse.

National Bouillabaisse Day is one of those odd holidays
that have no provenance and that most people have never heard of.
Still, you have to eat something for dinner tonight, right?
It may as well be a nourishing fish stew.

On second thought,
I ordered bouillabaisse at a restaurant once,
and I concluded it was probably one of those dishes
that is just too much work to prepare.
Besides that, it was hard work trying to eat it.
A raccoon would have been better
at wrestling the mussels from their shells than I was.
And if you need a raccoon to help you eat your meal,
you might want to think about having something else.
