Rain and thunderstorms last night
gave way to a perfect April day today.
The rain must have been good for the wildflowers,
for it seemed that everywhere I looked
there were masses of buttercups and creeping pink phlox.
There just isn't enough sun around my house for "moss pinks"
to thrive, but it's a treat to see them carpeting medians and meadows
around the Shire.
