The famous cherry blossoms in Washington, D. C.
aren't expected to appear until early April,
but today I noticed some ornamental cherry trees
beginning to flower in my neighborhood.
Today's warm temperatures prompted many white crabapple blossoms
to come out, but the cherry blossoms are a couple of weeks behind them.
Even so, now that the first few cherry blossoms have unfolded,
I know there's some more beauty just ahead.
